• Step into your story

  • Here’s your opportunity to

choose the story you were born to live.

Welcome to a one-day urban retreat that helps you step away from your roles and begin to shape the next chapter of your life.

  • Why Story?

    We tell stories

But did you know stories tell us?

Most of us never stop long enough to notice what story we’ve been living by – or how it has been quietly shaping who we think we are, what we believe, and what we dare to hope for.

Urban retreats by Stories Tell Us help you meet that inner story with honesty, curiosity and kindness.

  • Who is it for?

Stories Tell Us is for thoughtful adults who are beginning to question and wonder if there’s more to who they are and what they are striving for.

This may be for you if you recognise yourself in any of these:

    • Professionals and entrepreneurs who are outwardly “doing fine”, but feel disconnected from themselves.
    • Stay-at-home dads or mums who feel your world has shrunk to one role and you miss the rest of who you are.
    • Creatives who wish to break out of a mould and reconnect with their original voice.
    • Leaders and educators who feel the need for a reset that is deeper than skills and strategies.
    • Anyone who feels something inside saying, “There’s got to be more.”

If you’re not looking for therapy, motivational hype, or more information and jargon – and are instead seeking honest conversations, creative exercises and listening to each other’s stories – you’ll feel at home here.

  • What to expect

    What we will do..

    What the day is like

We keep the day simple and human. No long lectures, no heavy theory, no performance.

    You can expect:

    • Time to slow down and think, without distraction.
    • Guided reflection to help you remember and notice your own story.
    • Simple storytelling sessions: safe, time-bounded sharing circles where you can share or listen.
    • Simple, creative exercises that invite you to see yourself with new eyes.

We offer a calm, structured day that you can actually do – even if you’re tired, busy, or out of practice with reflection.

    What you come with..

You come as you are. As real as possible.

You bring your lived experiences, your highs and hopes, achievements and regrets, and whatever questions you carry about who you may really be beneath all of that.

No preparation is needed. Just a willingness to be honest with yourself and to give yourself this one day.

    What you leave with

Some may leave with an altogether new way of seeing their story.
Some may simply leave with a quieter, more grateful heart.

In all likelihood, you will leave with:

    • A clearer sense of how your story so far has shaped the way you see yourself.
    • A fresh awareness that you can participate in shaping the rest of your story, not just drift through it.
    • A handful of simple, doable practices and ideas you can weave into everyday life, so this doesn’t remain “just a nice day” but becomes the beginning of a gentler, truer way of living.

You will hear stories that may inspire, question, provoke, and even nudge you to reach for what once felt impossible.

At Stories Tell Us, we hope that you walk away not “fixed”, but more awake: more aware of who you are, more kind to yourself, and more deliberate about the story you choose to live from here on.

  • STORIES TELL US RETREAT

  • Who are we?

Stories Tell Us is a quiet, structured day retreat for people who sense that something in them needs space to breathe again.

Some may feel they are doing well in their lives and roles. Others may feel stuck, off-track, or simply tired of how things are. Either way, this is a place to step back from routine, revisit your story, and begin to realign who you are on the inside with the way you are living on the outside.

We are not offering motivation, performance hacks, or storytelling tricks. We’re offering a simple space: to pause, pay attention, and begin to choose the rest of your story more intentionally.

Mike Isaac and Raja Bunga are the facilitators at the Urban Retreat. While Mike has been a filmmaker and screenwriter over four decades,

Raja is a product designer, creative catalyst and a writer. Both live in Bangalore, India.
